About Me

Hi! My name is MaryKate Geraghty. I am a mom of three beautiful children, a 2x NICU mama, a wife, a licensed clinical social worker, and a certified pediatric infant and toddler sleep consultant through the Pediatric Sleep Academy. I am also a Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) therapist, which means I deeply understand the powerful connection between sleep, emotional wellbeing, and maternal mental health.

I know firsthand how exhausting and overwhelming parenting can be, especially when sleep is hard to come by.

​

My first son was born during the height of COVID in 2020 while I was completing my Master’s degree. Between caring for a newborn, managing school, and navigating the uncertainty of that time, I was completely exhausted. My mind and body were running on empty, and I knew something had to change. Hiring a sleep consultant was truly life changing for myself, my husband, and our son. He became a great sleeper, and our whole family benefited.

 

When my second son was born in 2022, I thought I had it all figured out… until I didn’t. My husband and I found ourselves struggling with his sleep even more than we had the first time. The sleep deprivation was intense while caring for two little ones, and it began to take a toll on my wellbeing. We once again hired a sleep consultant, and the difference it made was incredible. It reminded me just how powerful sleep is...not only for children, but for parents too. Once our little one was sleeping better, I truly felt like myself again.

As both a sleep consultant and a perinatal mental health therapist, I have seen how closely sleep and mental health are connected. Sleep deprivation can impact mood, anxiety, patience, relationships, and overall wellbeing during pregnancy and postpartum. My goal is to support families not only in helping their little ones sleep better, but also in protecting and supporting the wellbeing of parents along the way.

This work is deeply personal to me. I approach every family with compassion, understanding, and respect for your unique parenting style and circumstances. My goal is to help you navigate your child’s sleep while building confidence, creating sustainable routines, and helping your entire family get the rest you deserve.

In addition to sleep consulting, I am a licensed clinical social worker and Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) therapist. Through my therapy practice, A Work of Heart: Therapy for Moms,
I support women navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and the emotional transition into motherhood. My background in maternal mental health allows me to approach sleep with a deeper understanding of how sleep deprivation can impact a parent’s wellbeing.

My Philosophy

I believe that healthy sleep is essential - for babies, toddlers, and parents. Sleep is not just a milestone - it is the foundation for a child's growth, development, and emotional well-being. My philosophy is rooted in education, personalized support, and compassionate guidance.

My own experience has shaped a gentle, informed, and flexible approach: one that prioritizes connection, developmentally appropriate strategies, and the emotional well-being of both children and parents.
